Autumn in London

The fallen leaves look like a thick carpet on London's sidewalks.

By the end of August, the parks and the sidewalks in London look like a yellow sea of fallen leaves. Autumn abruptly invades England. In a flash, the shinning sun is hidden by clouds and it starts raining. The clouds disappear and the sun comes out again, and images go from grey and black to colorful in a blink of an eye.

Waving goodbye to the sun

London turns yellow in autumn.

In the short intervals of sunshine, the English enjoy the sun wandering half naked in the parks. Beside the people lying on the ground are their dogs who are also sunbathing. They are all anxious absorb as much sun as they can, because they know that the following winter will hide not only the sun, but the light as well, for several months. They don't care about the cold and that's why they're always ill and cough. Bronchitis is their national illness, which is treated with last generation’s penicillin. They'd rather suffer, than use advanced antibiotics.

In autumn, along with the people wandering there are also many squirrels, which even up to houses in order to find food. Squirrels also circulate in the center of London. If we could compare it to Athens, it would be like seeing people on Kaniggos square feeding the squirrels, as they casually wait for the bus to take them home…
